Pair of tokens - Moshe Tolanto - Freedom Without Slavery - Barbados - 1830'
Moshe Tolanto, was a Spanish Jew running the business at 33 Swan Street, Bridgetown. He issued these tokens in his shop during Emancipation (1834), the slash signs are an example of a worthless token (the tokens were in penny and half penny values)
Face: English inscription "Moshe Tolento", "Barbados" and in the center of the embossment and the main acronym in English M.T.
Back: A barrel in the center and inside the initials M.T. And around "freedom without slavery"
